What is child abuse and what is good discipline? Are they one in the same or are they polar opposites? Are we past the days of disciplining our children physically? Is that now considered out dated like a black and white television? I pose these questions because there was a strong divide on this question when I asked it on Facebook. It was almost split 50/50. Which I thought it would be, but the demographics are what surprised me. It wasn’t a race issue, nor was it a class issue, it wasn’t even a geographic issue. It simply came down to genders. With the exception of one male, we were all in agreement that there is absolutely nothing wrong with striking your children when warranted. The women on the other hand took a unite stand (for once) against almost all forms of physical reprimand. The debate was over the video of the father who whooped his two teenage daughters for sneaking out at night and making a “twerk” video. I personally say he didn’t do enough! I grew up getting well warranted whoopins so there is no sympathy for them coming from Keef. I believe that’s why the divide was gender based. NO MAN wants to be the father of the neighborhood ho! Imma keep this simple and leave it at that! What are y’all opinions?
