Free Paula Deen!

Is it just me or is it silly for people to get up in arms about the big, bad N word in 2013? If you have a phone, TV, computer, a friend, or even pass a carrier pigeon or two in your daily life, then I am sure you have heard about the Paula Deen fiasco. If you've been hiding under a rock I will give you a brief rundown. Deen is a sweet old southern White lady who just loooooooooves to cook! That's all she wants to do. And she cooks tasty looking southern treats, some would even call it soul food. Do I sound a bit biased? Then so be it. Anyway she is being investigated after a former Black employee of hers for 5 years, accused her being racist and creating and allowing a hostile work environment.

So while Deen was being investigated she was asked if she had ever used the N word in her entire lifetime! The investigation is being conducted because of her alleged work behavior. SO why was the question geared towards her entire life?  Anyhow, she answered honestly and said, "Yes, of course." She then went on to tell the story of how one day way before she was THE Paula Deen, while working at a bank a Black man came in and put a gun to her head while robbing the bank. She then went to her HOME and told her HUSBAND about the ordeal and in doing so referred to the bank robber as a nigger. I don't see the issue here. Truth is truth. She was upset, a man could have ended her life right there on the spot, and she called him a nigger. She didn't go on a rant in front of cameras. She went to her place of solitude and told her confidant how she felt. On top of that it was many moons ago.

Now she is losing endorsement deals left and right. I say rather than reprimand Deen we should be celebrating her honesty! She could have easily said she has NEVER ever said that word. But she didn't, she told the truth because she is under that simplistic southern mentality that the truth shall set you free. Well in this case the truth has set millions of dollars free from her hold.

Keep fighting the good fight Paula! And I would've called him a nigger too!

And I know this next video will go against everything I said but it's still funny.

Miscarriage: The down side to twerkin'

We love you Johnni

I bet never in a million years have u ever thought that the wonderful interpretive dance form known as "twerkin" could bring death or anything negative. This extremely pleasurable form of expression has always been known for bringing joy to both parties involved. However that wasn't the case this past weekend in Houston. A certain Johnni Blaze who has been hailed as "The Queen of Houston" was demonstrating her tension relieving form of dance on stage for a group of on lookers at a gentleman's club, when suddenly, to both her and the audiences surprise she sprung a leak in the... uh how do i say this gingerly??? Sprung a leak in the pussy area (yea that's it), and blood was everywhere. She quickly exited stage left. After the clean up on isle three she resumed her throne and gave it another shot. This time unfortunately, she went into convulsions and fell out on stage. She was rushed to the hospital where it was allegedly discovered that she had a miscarriage. So we here at the Keef n Kam show would like to send our condolences and a handful of wadded up $1 out to Ms Blaze. Stay strong sister girl!

Born Sinner Album Review

Iight Keef gonna review this J. Cole album. Let's all be honest... That last studio album was pure trash! Jay Z probably had his grimey hands all over it and made it trash. I mean Cole dropped at least 4 mixtapes that went ten times harder than that excuse for a record he tried to push on us. So with that being said, this was going to be either his redeeming CD or the 45 minutes that proved he wasn't ready for the limelight. I want to go on record saying that i personally loved this CD!

Now let me explain. The young whipper snapper dug deep within his loins (I don't even feel comfortable discussing another man's loins but... he did that!) to bring out some content that the game has been missing. First I am going to break you off with the Track list:
The J. Cole Born Sinner track list is as follows (Truly Yours 3 songs feature as asterisk):

1. Villuminati
2. Kerney Sermon (Skit)
3. LAnd Of The Snakes
4. Power Trip featuring Miguel
5. Mo Money (Interlude)
6. Trouble
7. Runaway
8. She Knows featuring Amber Coffman
9. Rich Niggaz
10. Where's Jermaine? (Skit)
11. Forbidden Fruit featuring Kendrick Lamar
12. Chaining Day
13. Ain't That Some Shit (Interlude)
14. Crooked Smile featuring TLC
15. Let Nas Down
16. Born Sinner featuring James Fauntleroy
*17. Miss America
*18. New York Times featuring 50 Cent & Bas
*19. Is She Gon Pop
*20. Niggaz Know
*21. Sparks Will Fly featuring Jhene Aiko

What I appreciated the most from the jump was 17 whole tracks! That's rare in today's commercial game. Most cats with throw you a disc with 11-14 tracks and tell you to shut up and be happy. But Jay threw 21 on this ho.

He came out the gate shooting with that Villuminati which is a play on words putting together Fayetteville (his hometown) and the Illuminati (and that's all I am going to say about them). Ironically he focuses on his relationship and often comparison with Jay Z on this track. Even talks about his initial feelings about Jay Z before and after meeting him. This is definitely not a intro track to skip! Now I ain't about to give y'all a full play by play, track for track of the joint. I give this album a SOLID 8 out of ten. You not gonna pop this in and pop a molly and get turnt up! You not going to wanna pull a drive by neither. However with this, you might want to pour something up with three ice cubes, roll a few of them thangs or pack a couple bowls. When the record stop you're going to want to rethink some of your previous views on things in life. You'll walk away feeling like you have a deeper connection with the artist. Something that I haven't felt since Good Kid MAAD City, and before that the Pledge mix tape series from Killer Mike.
